Submarket

Which regions have their own short-term price?

● checked against the primary source on Sep 28, 2026Source: CCEE

Acronyms: SIN, National Interconnected System; CCEE, Electric Energy Trading Chamber; PLD, Settlement Price for Differences (spot price); ONS, National Electric System Operator.

In one sentence

Each of the four divisions of the SIN for which the CCEE calculates its own PLD: North, Northeast, South and Southeast (this platform uses the label Southeast/Center-West for the last one).

Real example

Number read from the published database

On Sep 30, 2026, the daily average PLD was R$ 135.25 in the Southeast/Center-West, R$ 127.86 in the South, R$ 124.93 in the Northeast, R$ 135.25 in the NorthNature of the data: Calculated.

No Check this number record of its own in this example: the number comes from the panel's published database, which carries the source and the reference date.

Calculated: Deterministic transformation made by Scrutiniums, with a published formula.

Why it matters

The four values of each hour might coincide or differ. Why they differ (transmission limits between regions, for example) is a matter for the models and rules of the CCEE and the ONS, which this entry does not read: the platform shows the observed difference and the measured interchange, without attributing the difference to any factor.

How it is measured

The PLD_HORARIO dataset gives one value per hour for each submarket. In the ONS datasets used here, the region field is the subsystem, identified by SE, S, NE and N.

Not to be confused with

  • SIN (National Interconnected System)

The SIN is the entire interconnected system; a submarket is each of its four divisions with its own PLD. A SIN value is a sum or a ratio of sums of the subsystems, according to the rule of each indicator.
